Breast Lift (or Mastopexy) involves recontouring the breast through resection of breast skin and elevation of the nipple to a more natural youthful position.
There are many forms of mastopexy, each designed to correct particular problems with the shape and degree of breast sagging. The procedure will, however, leave the individual with varying degrees of external breast scars depending upon the amount of skin resected. Mastopexy can be combined with breast enlargement to produce changes in both breast size and shape. A woman’s ability to breast-feed should not be altered by either breast augmentation or reshaping. Both procedures are performed as ambulatory surgery usually under general anesthesia.
